Why do you get the chills when you hear good music?

I have always wondered...... Why do people get the chills when a really powerful part of a song comes on or when they see a really good music video? Basically anything that really speaks to someone, why do you they get chills?

There's probably a scientific explanation for that, but I can't explain it. I'm not a scientist.

However, I am a musician (I've been singing all my life and I've been playing guitar for 7 years). For me, it may depend in our tastes in music. My expertise lies in Classic Rock, Metalcore, Pop Punk, and Post-Hardcore (and your "sceney-tweeny, Hot Topic" bands). So, I get the chills when, for example, the bass drops into a Metal breakdown, or when a guitar solo begins to wail. It truly does send shivers down my spine. I don't care why it happens, all I care about is that it feels awesome!

it is beyond 'why'. music goes beyond the mind, and it comes from beyond the mind
