If terrorists attack a shopping mall, is it a good idea to try and Run?

I live in Texas. Here we have firearm 'supercenters' (one about a ten minute drive from house). And we have oshman and other sporting goods stores in malls almost everyone. So I think the best bet would be to track over there, borrow a few items, and send them to their 72 virgins. They would probably not get very far here. There are guns every where here. If they managed to make it out of the mall alive, I don't think it would be but a matter of minutes before someone got them.

I don't think people at the time would really know what to do for the best,especially when they have children with them. We give our condolence's to those many killed.

A mall like that was used by better off locals and foreigners. Its a sitting target for such groups so full of anger and hate they are willing to kill and maim indiscriminately just to draw attention to their cause,what ever that might be?

It was only due to the bravery and calm of the Kenyan people that it wasn't a lot worse.

All that can be done is for the intelligence services to constantly monitor the activity of such twisted groups.

Maybe do a drop to the floor then find cover instead of running because the gunman can find a running target faster than a hiding target. Come to think of it, it would be difficult to know where they are (gunman) and where they are shooting from in a mall situation.

It really depends on the circumstances. If the terrorists aren't right where you are but you know they're nearby, and you're pretty sure that you could get away, then of course run like h*ll.

I'd say try to hide in a little used area like a maintenance closet or hallway, if you have a gun go someplace where you can see all the entrances and keep quiet.

Running will lead to 80 percent death or injury and 20 percent hostage. Best option tell him you got balls of steel and he will let you go. I'm joking taking cover and remaining hidden for the period of time the hostages are in the building is the best option.

No - the nastiest practictioners of terrorism often have a 2nd or 3rd explosive device as 'back-up' to their main event.

Best advice is to hit the ground - lie low - and hopefully avoid splinters of glass.

Well, if I stay, I'm dead. If I run, I got half a chance. I'm running, even if I have to pick the moment, I'm taking my chances on the run like hell idea.

Of course run for your life. grab your favorite clothing apparel on the way out if you can.

You should seek cover first and then run if there is any opportunity.
