Wouldn't it be nice if there was a Global Warming prediction that didn't happen 100 years from now?

You know like when someone would be alive to remember it?

Well, we can always go back & check the predictions from a hundred years ago to see how they turned out.

But doing so probably wont inspire much confidence in the accuracy of current predictions.

There are such predictions. IPCC models give estimates on short term as well. There was prediction that people in Britain won't know what snow is within ten years. Arctic ice was predicted to disappear by this year. Tens of millions of climate refugees were predicted, though so far, the only ones have been people who were forced off their land so companies could claim carbon credits.

There are a lot of that didn't happen now. Why wait for 100 years?

Quote by Noel Brown, UN official: "Entire nations could be wiped off the face of the Earth by rising sea levels if the global warming trend is not reversed by the year 2000. Coastal flooding and crop failures would create an exodus of "eco-refugees," threatening political chaos."

There are literally thousands more. So I guess it is nice now.

there never was any man made warming. in fact we are in a downward cooling cycle. this summer was the coldest summer in over 100 yrs. we've had 7 straight years of record falling temps nationally. global warming was proven to be a hoax just to steal government grant monies by scientists with no skills, just greed.

They are not predictions; they are probabilistic experiments conducted to try and learn more about the climate system. Denier disinterest in learning anything is evident from the fact that they have made zero contributions to our understanding of climate. Any fool can lie and b-tch - and, so far, that is all Deniers have done.

In a hundred years time we will probably be richer, have better technology and be more able to adapt or fix any warming that might occur, taxes, regulations and expensive energy, will just prevent us being more prosperous in the future and less able to cope.

People talk about green environment, but you ask the poor people who live in places like Africa or Asia would they prefer to stay there, or come to a smog laden city like L.A. with the pollution, but also the higher incomes and the luxuries that go with it.

Currently, "science" has enough problems just trying to predict a WEEK in advance ACCURATELY!

I also note that LESS than 50 YEARS ago, they were predicting global COOLING as a problem.

Climate science does not depend AT ALL on ANY predictions of the future. Never did, and never will, except in the fantasies of those duped by fossil fuel industry anti-science myths.

It also does not depend AT ALL on how much you remember of high school science or what your grades were then.

"How about the one that a warming planet will reduce sea ice ... oh wait, that's what's happening in the Arctic ..."

    Or:

How about the one that a warming planet will increase sea ice ... oh wait, that's what's happening in the Antarctic ...

  • So you're too stupid to do historical research?
