Cleaner for LCD monitor ?

Every place that sells screen cleaner wants $20 for a not very good size bottle

of it. I do believe something can be substituted which won't harm the screen.

Anyone have any suggestions ?

Never use any chemical based cleaner, like Windex.

Use plain water and microfiber cloth. Or, go to an optometrist and buy a small bottle of eyeglass cleaner for plastic lenses. Those are safe for plastics, which most LCD screens have a form of, over the front of the screen to protect the actual LCD screen.

I use Windex and paper towels.

I don't use so much that it drips down the into buttons.

Really cheap paper towels are scratchy, but Bounty or Kleenex tissues do the job.
