If Obamacare provides for the mentally ill, why is the GOP trying to repeal it...?

1. Your question shows that you have no idea what the fu*k you're talking about. Mental Illness was the reason behind the majority of the mass shootings, most of which, BTW were done by Leftists. Not just "Democrats" but extreme leftists. The Cop in Cali thanked Obama for all he had done... The Tucson Shooter chose to shoot Gifford because she wasn't far enough left...

The reason that mentally ill people are allowed to get guns is because we live in a country where groups like the ACLU have made it impossible for doctors to treat patients and doctors to inform the authorities that a patient might be a threat to themselves or others without fear of lawsuit.

HUNDREDS of people knew that Jarrod Laughter (the Tucson Shooter) was mentally ill but no one felt they could do anything without fear of legal repercussions. Once he was arrested, no one could make him take the medication he needed to become lucid enough to try... Our country says that even if a person has lost all touch with reality, it's still their right to decline treatment and if anyone discloses his or her mental health status and they haven't been declared unfit by a Judge and forcibly detained in a mental health facility, it is a violation of HIPPA Laws (Thank you again, Bill Clinton) to disclose their medical information to anyone.

The Navel Yard Shooting happened because everyone was terrified to do anything about this nutter because he could sue.

So he slipped through the cracks, everyone said "I'll let someone else take the fall here..." and he killed a bunch of people.

Even if we had the best mental healthcare system in the multiverse, if you can't force a mentally ill person into it, you can't do anything to stop them from being crazy.

2. Obamacare needs to be repealed because it WILL NOT HELP our country's epic clusterfu*k of a healthcare system. People love to talk about the Socialized Medicine of the various countries in Europe while neglecting to mention 2 key things:

A) Each COUNTRY in the EU is about the size of a single state in the US, so our system will be over 50X the culstuerfu*k that each nation in Europe.

B) The only systems that work at all in Europe are those with Tax Rates over 50% with small populations and lots of GDP from Oil.

***The United Kingdom produces 1.3 million barrels of oil daily and exports 775,000 barrels.

***Norway produces 2.1 million barrels of oil daily.

***Canada produces 2.6 million barrels of oil per day.

The list goes on with The Netherlands, Italy, Denmark, Sweden, Spain, Finland...

And the countries that claim to have the "Best" UH are on the verge of bankruptcy... The UK and France are barely holding their heads above water and in Canada, the #1 place I hear about for UH, HUGE numbers of their citizens actually come to the US for healthcare because otherwise they're put on a waiting list... Even the Canadian Government contracts with US Doctors to come and provide the basic care that their own doctors can't... And more often than not the NATION of Canada skips out on the bill or ends up paying the American Contractor Doctors $0.10 on the dollar what they were promised and contracted to get.

The UK has been quite vocal about how they're unable to pay their doctors and that their pension system is broken.

The UK is about the size of the state of Louisiana and can't keep their UH System going... What makes you think that the US will do any better?

We need Tort Reform.

We need to open the market and allow or even force Health Insurance Companies to compete on a nationwide basis like Car Insurance rather than have them contained State by State...

3. Doctors are planning on fleeing the system when Obamacare comes into full force. Good luck getting quality care when there are not enough doctors to see you.

The biggest problems with our mental health system are lack of knowledge and patient willingness. Due to the bad stigma, many mental health providers do not advertise, and even advertising wouldn't force someone like a mass murderer to seek mental help.

When Liberals claim that the only way to offer better mental health services is to implement Obamacare, which is more than not a system of employer paid health insurance, Conservatives must now bite the bullet and explain to flailing Liberals that they do not endorse the "change" over claims that it would protect them from insane gunmen.

Why?

Two weeks before the shooter bought his Joe Biden-approved shotgun he called police to tell them he heard voices and was being followed but this information, along with all the other reports and crimes,was never on his record. Obamacare isn't going to cover that which is never reported... and neither will "comprehensive background checks". I keep hearing about "gun show loopholes" and "internet sales and its all smoke and mirrors meant to scare everyone to "do something!"... Gun shows do background checks on all guns sold except for private sellers who typically are selling antique and/or non-firing guns (why they don't want them); basically weapons so old as to be unreliable. You can buy a gun off the internet but they will only ship to a dealer in the area who will then conduct a background check before delivery. Any cause you have to bend or fabricate a truth for is not an altruistic cause. Especially when their "solutions" do NOTHING... like Biden telling us to buy the very weapon used to kill people at the Navy Yard. Must really bug them it wasn't an "assault rifle"... and why there is far less hoopla over Navy Yard than Colorado or Sandy Hook.

Nobody knows for sure what is in the guidelines on mentally ill, and gun Owner ship. Will one trip to a phycologists keep one from being able to buy a gun? Will a prescription to a new mom for an antidepressant keep her from buying a gun? Nobody knows the answers to these questions... Just like Obama care. If introduced our medical records will be available to the US Government. We are slaves to our own country. We have no freedoms under Obama.. What's worse is that I could go down the road and buy a gun from a thug off the street with no problem. I hate big thug Government! The US IS JUST THAT! I call for american patriots to stand up against Obama and his thugs! Stand for our rights and freedoms that we deserve...
