What kind of light (wavelength, etc) is emitted by anti-SAD lamps and is it clinically proven to be effective?

I'm finding little online or pro. medical counsel of value - commercial hype and anecdotal only - to prove the effectiveness of SAD lamps. Are there are any genuine research websites, libraries, etc. to shed some light (no pun intended) on their genuine effectiveness?

You're not looking in the right places. Start by using a resource that gives you access to scholarly research. PubMed is a search engine that helps you access abstracts and full-text articles from scientific journals. You can type in your search terms and get tons of information on SAD and light therapy. Here's the link... http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed
