There are so many very good children's Bibles that are age appropriate. If your 4 year old asks you where babies come from, you give them only enough detail that a 4 yr old can understand, right? In the same way, realities of life (good and bad) are spoken of by God in the Bible, but He created parents to give their children what's appropriate for them at each stage of development. You'll find that children's and toddler's Bibles only cover stories that a small child can relate to. I would think that your local Christian and/or secular book stores would have a wide variety of versions to help you decide which is best for your kids.

If I had kids I would, how else are they going to learn about what life is really about, morals, the good and the bad? Most kids encounter bad things everyday. Some kids stumble on a wrong page on the internet. The alternative is to lock them up and throw away the key and not teach them the rights and wrongs of life. _Pretend these things dont exist yes they did in bible days as so they do now.

  • I encourage all of Gods children to read it. For the Bible is about Justice, And this is something that the world truly knows nothing about.

Yes! They need to hear the truth about God, and why we are to follow the 10 commandments. This is the only book that tells us exactly how to survive in this cruel world. It's worse to watch the news these days...

I don't believe in trying to shelter my kids from life. That stunts their growth. By not allowing them to read various religious books, they are unable to make an informed decision regarding religion. So by disallowing the reading of the Bible, you brainwash your kids, just like you accuse Christians of doing. My kids are allowed to read any religious book they want.

Then get them a children's bible that cuts out all that stuff so they can get the basic idea, and then when they are old enough to understand that all that stuff is wrong, let them read the real Bible

Yes, now my daughter is nine, she can read it. I have told her that genocide, murder, slavery etc exist or have existed. It is good for her to get the right idea of the Christian god now.

    No.

Why indoctrinate children with a book of lies, hate, racism and death by the so called wrath of God to eternal hellfire!!!!!!!

The Bible was written by people, people with an agenda of control towards those with the vulnerability genome...
