what is a good laptop video card in the mid-high range?
i need to upgrade my laptop video card and was looking for something int the mid-high range and i can get them my buddy works at dell so i can get laptop video cards
and for the laptop i have the card is not soldered into the board

"and for the laptop I have the card is not soldered into the board"? Please tell us the full make and model number of your laptop, and what wattage your power supply is so we can help you. MXM Graphics cards vary in size and shape, and some may not actually fit the space available inside a laptop.

If u like up-gradation try a Desktop and an assembled one.
Laptop cant be upgraded except your hard drive and disc drive.
Anyway a mid-high range can be ATI mobile raedon 5650 1gb graphics card.
If you want to go further on range then go for Nvidia Geforce GTX 260M 1gb.

You can't. Laptop video cards are not upgradeable. They are soldered onto the motherboard.
