Why did white Americans protest against Miss America?
Why did white Americans protest against the Miss America contest winner being a native American, despite the fact that white "Americans" aren't even Americans at all, they just stole the land off the native Americans (who are obviously the only REAL Americans and thus the only race who should be able to participate in the contest in the first place)?
"Pretty much EXACTLY how white New Zealanders had a fit when Maoris started getting kighthoods and damehoods, like Tiri Te Kanawa."
Not at all, let's be rational here. Maoris are not British, why on earth should they receive a *knighthood from the Queen of England? Despite the fact that New Zealand WAS one of the British colonies, the Maoris and British people belong to two different races. To suggest a Maori should receive a knighthood from the Queen of England is like suggesting that a Syrian should win the "New Zealander of the Year" award.

Because this is the most racist country on the planet. If it ain't white it ain't right if its black its wack.Thats how Americans perceive people of all races except their own.Im just stating the facts. They rather see a skinny sickly looking blonde haired chick win miss America than for a pretty well built and smart Indian woman who looks healthy.

Because she wasn't white or black*. By the way, she's INDIAN (as in "ancestors from the country of India"), not Native American, so before you fly off the handle, get your facts .
* Pretty much EXACTLY how white New Zealanders had a fit when Maoris started getting kighthoods and damehoods, like Tiri Te Kanawa. (I'm sure it's before your time, like in the ancient days of the 1980s, but it did happen. Ask your parents.)

1) She's Indian, not Native American.
2) A lot of Americans are racist, at least on some subconscious level. There, I said it.
3) Indians were shocked as well because their culture praises pale skin, and she's rather tan, so she doesn't fit Indian standards of beauty.

Welcome to America. If you don't look like them aka the whites you will get slammed with every great chance you get. It's been a while since a woman of color has won Miss America. Vanessa Williams got tons of backlash when she won back in the early 90s; Whether people like to believe it or not it's the truth. If you don't have White skin in America you don't get it easy.

That should show you what they really think of the world. White people seem to view women as the main symbols of a culture, so that whenever a woman who is too different from a White woman is held up as beautiful, it makes them uncomfortable and they react with racism. They're stupid.

Jealous has driven them mad.
Dark skinned women are threatening the white standard of beauty, something that may eventually turn society on its head.
The tanning business is gonna boom in the next ten years I bet...black hair dye too.
