Why should I continue to work?

What is the point in working? Last year I was a top performer with my company and got a 1.8% annual raise, then obama took away 2% for the tax increase. I'm bringing home less money today then I did a year ago. This doesnt even factor in inflation. I'm sure it will be the same thing this year, I might get a small raise then obamacare will cause my insurance to go up causing me to bring home even less money. What's my motivation to do better if I cant be rewarded for it? I might as well quit my job and bum off of society like so many other people in this country are doing

    1) Obama did not take 2% for the tax increase. Your wages were reduced BY Obama by 2% for about 18 months, the rate simply went back to where it was.

2)Join the crowd, despite government protestations to the contrary, the inflation rate was closer to 8% than 1%. Everyone is losing buying power.

3)Probably will be, but not because of Obamacare. The FED buying 85 Billion dollars in long term instruments PER MONTH will add another trillion in debt to their books and skewing the REAL market, propping up the sham economy for another 6 months.

    4) You want motivation, join the army. Otherwise buck up and prepare for the worst while hoping for the best. If you are preparing for YOUR future and what might come, then you'll be in the same boat with the rest of the sponges when TSHTF.

    5) 47 Million out of 310 Million in the US are on Food Stamps. About 10 million people are without a job (officially only about 4 million) and the welfare numbers are a joke.

IF the SHTF, do you really want to be among the masses who have thier bene's disappear or do you want to have something to fall back on and means to protect it?

You got that right. Incomes have been falling against inflation since W Bush. I'm disappointed, though, that you don't understand Republican unsustainable government. What on earth do you think will happen to our deficits? Republicans lack the courage to cut spending at the federal level, and their debt is piling up. USNews says we'll soon be paying $1 trillion a year in interest on the Republican/Obama national debt. That comes to $7,000 per taxpayer per year. What do you propose we do about Republican stupidity?

you may be a top performer, but you don't know how to make money tax free. re negotiate your contract so that instead of taxable salary, you are paid in stock options. there is no reason Mitt Romney has to be the only rich guy not paying taxes. don't blame the government for what you fail to do for yourself.
