Why won't my laptop detect my Wireless router?

When I got my laptop, it had Windows 8 on it, and well, everyone hates it... so needless to say, I downgraded [or upgraded?] to Windows 7. After installing Windows 7, and installing all drivers, my laptop will not detect ANY wireless connections, and I know there are a few around my house. I do have my own, 20 feet away from where I keep my laptop [or less]. Still won't read it. I have 2 desktop computers connected to the network via a ethernet cable, and 2 mobile devices connected wirelessly. The wifi worked on my laptop just fine in Windows 8, but not anymore since my downgrade [upgrade?].

When I go into device manager, It says the device is working properly. No yellow exclamation mark. I've tried installing the drivers multiple times. Both via Device Manager or Manually.

Any thoughts?

It is possible that you installed incorrect drivers specify your laptop specs...or your wifi is hidden..
