What will a 10% drop in the stock market cost the economy because of the debt ceiling debate vs. Obamacare?

In August 2011, the debt ceiling debate "contributed to an approximate US$2.5 trillion erased from global equity value" in one day alone.

Funding the government seems like a lot cheaper option, Obamacare or not.

Update:

"And then it went back up. Yawn. "

And so did most economic metrics from the 2008 recession. No biggie then, right? Bring on the recessions?

Hahahaha - is THAT how the republicans are going to spin it? That's great.

What happens when the stock market goes UP???? OMG - republicans would panic and run around like headless chickens.
