Is anyone else tired of the Mo train?
Granted he is a once in a lifetime player, best ever at a position that he redefined, on the short list of best pitchers ever, an all around great guy and team mate. It just seems that people are trying to deify him. I am tired of all the adulation. I try to listen to sports talk on the radio and all I get is a litany of minor events and general praise for the man, and too many calls that say "I just want to thank Mo" or "good-bye, Mo." When is enough enough?

I mean, it's kind of a big deal when somebody of his stature retires. You could make an argument that he was the most dominant pitcher of all time. Now, before everybody thumbs me down, I didn't necessarily say the best pitcher of all time, I said the most dominant. He absolutely dominated the league for almost 20 years with basically one pitch and nobody ever hit it. But back to your question, he's a unique individual, the type of player baseball had never really seen before and likely won't see again and apart from that, he was class act and just a likeable guy overall. I think it's important to give some respect when a historical career like his ends.

No, I'm not sick of it. I think in today's world we need all the role models we can get for the kids growing up. There's never too many great guys around and there's never too much praise for the kind of man he is.
He's a mans' man. Let his light shine for as long as the media will keep it lit for everyone to see and for all the kids, teens and young adults, and old adults as well, to mimick.

In a couple days. You can change the channel on the radio when they are talking about Rivera if you want.
