If Obamacare turns out to be a disaster?

And everybody hates it, will that help the Republicans win big in 2016?

If so, why are they trying so hard to prevent it from happening?

I think they're just trying to make as much noise as possible right now. That way, when it turns out to be a disaster, they can remind the voters that they fought nail and tooth to stop the trainwreck.

Of course, the R's will screw it up anyway by nominating baffoons like Akin and Mourdock, and they'll fail to take the incredibly simple approach of rolling the videotape of D promises that failed to materialize. They also won't offer a simple, easy to understand fix for all the problems.

Well, you mean the insurance mandate, if that does not work out?. If the insurance mandate fails to generate enough money for the tax credits, all bets are off since the whole rest of the health care plan depends on people buying insurance. Otherwise, the insurance companies have no incentive to make reforms which allow everyone to buy insurance.

It is for Republicans to get re-elected next year in Congress, not for 2016 unless they can milk it until then.

DURANGO, The economy is affected by millions of people not being insured and the government picking up the tab now. Economy is affected when millions in medical bills are not paid, millions of people file bankruptcy and ruin their credit, cant get jobs or cars, lose time from work due to illness. Many working families cant afford medical care for children. Hospitals raise their costs to make up the losses on unpaid ER care. That is billions of dollars. And tax money has to help them out. That is why the ACA was needed. And it aimed to keep insurance in private hands, not have a government delivery system.

obama-no-care has already failed. There are no "exchanges" set up. I costs FOUR TIMES what was projected. It covers everyone except 30,000,000 Americans in addition to those granted "waivers" to buy their votes. (30,000,000 was the same number allegedly not covered BEFORE passage of the Unaffordable Care Fiasco.) By preventing further implementation of this disaster, Republicans hope to salvage something of what is left of this country so there will be an election, and an America, in 2014.

Frank, will the drugs you're on be allowed under obama-no-care? Where can I get some?

Because if the Republicans roll over and LET the Democrats win this one, it becomes law to the tune of $100,000,000,000 a YEAR until it is overturned by the Supreme Court in about twenty years.

Yes, I said a hundred billion dollars a YEAR.

EDIT: By the way, even Obama has backed off on his claims that it will cover everybody and it will bring down costs.

Republicans in power who are a scripted act will say it's a success later on because they wanted it in the first place. Obamacare is an expansion of government control over the people, so they are full of **** they don't want it to be the rule of law. Insurance companies wrote the bill and republicans are in their back pockets.

    good point.......

Instead of playing these childish games in Congress to repeal and defund what has already been passed, let Obamacare proceed accordingly, and it would be a big plus for them in the 2016 election if it turns out to be as bad as they have been forecasting.

    What?

    The Iraq war is over

    Bin Laden is dead

Syria gave up their WMDs without a single US soldier dying for it

The economy is continuing to grow

ObamaCare is already bringing down costs despite the Republicans' best efforts to steer us into a tree.

There may not be a country to "win" and after 100 years of the disastrous Democrat IRS, do the voters blame the Democrats....most Democrats do not even know how harmful the IRS is to our freedoms

The problem really isn't if it will work or not. It is just that real Americans don't want the government controlling our lives. I would rather live in a tent in the woods, free, then live in a prison with all my needs met.

    Not much

The disaster was the 30M Americans getting health care in the ER at taxpayer expense which is a strong contributing factor that inspired the AHA.

This motivation is right up the rep party alley ... why are they against it?
