SECF question about college credits?
I was wondering when you go to your A school for your job you get in SECF (ET, FT, or STS) do you get college credits or something that converts into them? My recruiter and job packet said that the classes you take do, but wanted to see if anyone actual has gone into the program and what they got out of it towards a future education (college) Thanks for reading, and if you don't know then please leaving the commenting for experience sailors in this field, thank you!

yes, you will earn around 50 credit hours in things like basic electronics
as to whether they can be transferred to a university -- that really depends on what degree your looking for and if that degree requires credits in basic electronics
IE: you leave the service and go to school, for an engineering degree, even a electronic engineering degree -- those credits are not gonna help you at all credit wise

Any college credits you may earn from your job experience(A school included) is entirely dependent on the individual college to which you apply for admission. These credits do not transfer. If you transfer to a different college, you will have to apply to have your job history evaluated for credits.
In the future, proper writing techniques state that if you use uncommon abbreviations, you are to write out the full terminology of the abbreviation the first time you use it. Not everyone on these forums know what SECF(ET, FT, or STS) means.
