Even though he's not available to play in the CL, should United go for Gundogan in January?

Or would Herrera be a better option?

    Yeah !

Gundogan is awesome, and will easily fix our midfield, and mean provide us with much needed creativity & defensive steel & also youth since he is only 22.

It looks unlikely that he will come though.

I wish we didn't spend so long on Fabregas in summer transfer window & didn't leave our business too late.

Luiz Gustavo & Strootman are both fantastic players & also realistic targets, and they would have been available for around £17m-£18m each.

Our midfield would have improve greatly if we signed these two players, but we didn't even try to go for them.

The cost of both of them would have been just more than we payed for Fellaini & would have been money well spent.

Also, we've got too many old players in our squad:

    Carrick (still important).

    Evra.

    Ferdinand.

    Giggs.

    Van Persie (still important).

    Vidic (still important).

    Don't think we need either.

Personally I would shift focus away from central midfield and place it on defence.

We've looked average defensively. Vidic has been good and yes we do have Evans, Smalling, Jones and Rio in the side too. But I really think that adding the element of ONE WORLD CLASS central defender would do wonders for United. It would sure things up at the back. Remember how strong United were when Rio and Vidic were the best defensive partnership in the world? We need that again.

The way I look at it, signing a world class centreback like Garay or even Hummels could be a similar influence to what RVP was last season. We didn't need RVP last season in terms of the personnel we had available at United; Rooney, Hernandez, Welbeck, Berbatov. But signing one of the best strikers in the world lifted United so significantly that thanks to the goals from RVP, we won the league. Similarly, if United add a world class centre back to mix, it will sure things up at the back and maybe even result in the side keeping more clean sheets and stopping them from leaking easy goals. In turn that could even be a factor that results in silverware.

Midfield with Carrick and Fellaini needs a bit of time to settle. Fellaini needs to adjust to a more disciplined and holding role like he played in his early years at Everton. While Carrick needs to communicate with Fellaini and understand his style more. All they need is a few more games together. Then with the likes of Cleverly, Anderson, Fletcher (returning), Giggs and Januzaj, I think we'll cope. If anything out wide needs something fresh. Would love to see Zaha get more minutes, but I also think that Valencia or Young need to be replaced.

Either one is an improvement on what we currently have, but we've had trouble bringing in players, i blame the director's and the Glazers more than anyone

We are signing Billion dollar sponsorship details, but we barely see any of the money coming towards the team, we sold Ronaldo for £80 Million and replaced him with fkin Valencia, we sell great players and replace them with average ones, this is why i'm afraid to see Rooney go

but again the Glazers and director's are draining all the money out of the club and we will never become a major force again until the damn Glazers are gone for good

    Love United, Hate Glazers

Gundogan would be a more safe buying...though i fear that gundogan, like kagawa, would have problem adjusting to the archaic style moyes insist on playing.

I agree that he is a quality player and that he should assist us to fix some of our problems that have become apparent this season ...

I have faith in my team .... we are United !!

    Cheers.
