Why do my friends who are Republicans get upset when I quote facts in a debate?

Facts are like Kryptonite to them. Some will quickly walk away waving their arms when I tell them where to look up facts.

    The Republican idea is like a bad religion. Their beliefs supersede all facts!

    Maybe because you don't "quote" a fact. You quote an opinion. A fact is something that can be proven. Very little the Democrats say meet this litmus test.
