Ebay returns. How do I know I'll be refunded?

First time for me, wanting refund for ebay purchase...I'm supposed to post back the item to the (private)seller, and let her know when I've posted it. Fine. But what guarantee do I have my money will be reimbursed?

Is my 'PayPal' supposed to look after this perhaps?

Thanks in advance for any experience and tips, before I mail it ;)

    Trust I suppose. However yes just make sure both eBay and PayPal know. I usually put notes.

    Problem is if you don't send signed for (expensive) then they could just say "we haven't received it".

    If the seller has a high rating you can be sure they are genuine enough to refund you.
