Is your family perfect?
I want to know what your problems are.. No one has the perfect life.. Here's mine, I am 42, 3 boys, live with their over protective grandmother, mom is in prison and I have no control over their lives. I work 2 jobs, Live at home, no girlfriend , and live paycheck to paycheck . I don't drink or smoke. I try to be a good dad, I never treat them bad, but at their age , (21-20 & 16) they don't want to hang with dad anymore. I do pay my bills and my mom for rent. I want a girlfriend, but I have too much baggage at my age, and other women my age have problems too, but mine seem worse for some reason. I can't afford a lawyer to get my boys, their mom just went to prison recently got a year. She signed them over to the grandma. Perhaps I'm boo-hoo-ing over nothing. I feel i don't have control of my life.
What's your life like?
I'll take criticism too, if your life is so perfect.
Thanks...

Let the boys come to you when they are ready to, they will show up one day and surprise you.
Meanwhile, live your own life, I assume you are now divorced and as long as you are working you have no real baggage. Your sons are in the care of your mother(though technically they are no longer in her custody they are adults);so consider yourself no longer a family man. You can date whoever you wish, you can mention you have 3 sons all past the age of diaper changing and they don't live with you. That does make you free and single ever think of it that way?
You do have control of your life let go of the past.

You need to establish boundaries in your life so that you can start living it. A book that changed my life in regards to this very topic:
"Boundaries: When to say yes, how to say no to take control of your life" By Henry Cloud and John Townsend
Strongly recommend it to you, it changed my entire way of thinking and living.

Newsflash: NO ONE IS PERFECT!!!!!!! That means no family is perfect!! If anyone claims to be perfect or that their family is perfect, they are either lying or only seeing what they want to see. And let's be honest, here. No one else's family life is any of your business. I won't apologize for being blunt with you.
