How do you rate the effects of govt. shutdown so far, 1-10?

1 = Things couldn't be better!

10 = Its the end of the world!

And what is your political leaning?

    For me, only 2-3. The only way I've been affected is with the closing of the parks. But I know that it's really devastating for some people so overall I'd say 6-7. There are government employees who live paycheck to paycheck that aren't working right now.

    That depends

    If you spent lots of cash to visit Washington DC and/ or the national parks to find the museums closed, you probably don't like it

    If you're a kid with cancer working with the NIH, you could even die from it

    Do you need a passport for foreign travel? Probably don't like it

    In a foreign country and need help at the embassy? Probably won't like it

    Most people don't deal with the federal government day to day but keep in mind that the impact will soon filter to something that impacts you

    It's not the shutdown I'm worried about as much as the debt ceiling in a couple of weeks.

    I'd rate it a 7 based on your scale.

    5 We have already spend $180 million sending out furlough notices. Since it's only been in effect about half a day, we have only lost $16 million in revenues from our national parks. And the worst won't hit till the next time all those million newly unpaid employees don't get their next check.

    It will be just like the sequester, which, after a scant ten hours, hadn't done anything anyone could particularly identify, but after six months of it had cost us 750,000 jobs.

    Not even on my radar. We may soon learn that we can easily live without all these non-essential government positions.

    I'm a moderate conservative registered as an Independent.

    Inflicting pain on the poorest Americans - a 1, just what the GOP planned.

    5 - same as it ever was... same as it ever was...

    I woke up, showered, shaved read the Bible, ate breakfast, and then went to work, worked, ate lunch, worked some more, came home, just another day.
