How do I find password for computer wifi?
I was told to :
"find your routers ip address, go to Start; Run; type in 'cmd'.
Type 'ipconfig' at cursor. Default gateway will show eg. 123.456.7.8
Type this in address bar, press enter. A login screen should appear, you need to find the wireless section. There, you can find it, or you might have to go to a wireless security section.
If the router asks you for a password or username, try username admin, password blank, username admin, password admin, or username admin, password: passowrd. "
I did all the above, and each time it is "incorrect login".
What else can I try?
Thanks nick. I am the owner of the router, I was trying to connect my new phone, but dont know the password. The printed on the router isnt working, so it could be I changed it. Not sure.

Hi Libby,
I'll break this into three steps:
1) Generally to find the password for a router what you can do is Google "<router model> default login" and you can try that.
2) If that doesn't work then it's been changed, the current login information may be printed on the router itself (is this what you meant wasn't working?).
3) If that doesn't work you can reset the router by holding down the reset button for 5-10 seconds with a pen or something small. This will reset the router to factory default settings, so you may want to setup the WiFi again.
Here's some information on that:
* SSID = WiFi name
* Passphrase = WiFi password
* Encryption = You want WPA2/AES (or just wpa2 or wpa)
That's roughly all you usually have to do. :)
Hope this helps,
Cheers

You can ask the owner of the router. The owner of the router established a management password to keep people from messing with the router.

You're told wrong.
Those passwords are so insecure, router maker stopped using them years ago.
