is this a good enough excuse ?
my boyfriend is a vallet at a fancy Hotel, he was well recognized by guest. His job even recognized him. he's been there a little over 6 months. he showed up to work (10.4.2013) and they accused him of stealing something from a guest car. they told him another employee mentioned it, but wouldn't discuss the matter with the employee.????? myy boyfriend is a great person and wouldn't steal. he upset about the fact they didn't even give him a chance ?? now he's jobless.

unfortunately, someone can be fired for no reason.
He can sue if the reason for the termination is unsubstantiated, for instance, if they did not pursue criminal charges then they also do not believe they had proof (else the police would have been included) so he may have cause of action.
The problem IS ... is it worth it?
And yes, speak with human resources, mention the above, be calm and straight forward, perhaps in writing and then he may get his job back. Tho does he want it back or should he just seek damages, because working there again with those people may not be worth while.
It MAY be worth it if this unsubstantiated issue affected anyone else, i.e if it can be substantiated that someone else believed this accusation without proof. That would be damaging and then highly actionable as slander.
