My flash drive won't work properly. I can't find my folders anymore.?

The folders that are there have been converted to shortcuts and won't open when I click them. When I try to open them, I get an error message saying, "The item 'zoazo.scr' that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved, so this shortcut will no longer work properly.' I've attached pictures to see if that can better illustrate the problem. http://www.flickr.com/photos/104559117@N%E2%80%A6

Can someone tell me what caused this and how it can be fixed, please?

    There are several probabilities to this...

    1. Someone trolled you- deleted all the folders and replaced it with shortcuts.

    2. SURELY, it is a virus. I've encountered it once- years ago. It was impossible to solve it so I ended up formatting the drive instead.

    Right-click the shortcut and choose open file location. If not, go to properties. It should show up the real original place where the folder had been. Try to select them all and go to properties. Memorize the total file size. Then go to my computer, then check your drive. If the same amount of data shows on the icon, then there is a problem caused by a virus. OR you can just restore them with some file restoration software like the products from iobit. The other problems can be easily solved with the following solution;

    ANOTHER SOLUTION:

    Go to start

    Type in "CMD"

    Type your drive letter, like "f:" "g:" "h:". Then type in cmd.exe

    attrib -s -r -h -a autorun.inf

    Erase /q/s/f autorun.inf attrib -s -r -h -a *.* /d /s

    And then eject your flash drive from the computer and push it in again

    Recommended to format the drive and install some anti-virus systems bro. Good luck out there! :D FEEL FREE TO MAIL ME IF YOU NEED MORE HELP! ;)

    Do a system restore and go back to when you last could open your files

    Source(s): Shortcut virus = a form of autorun.inf worm your link does not work edit: a drive with autorun.inf worm won't format until you sort out autorun.inf. do NOT delete shortcuts - sort out autorun.inf
