Which phone should I get?

It depends on what you want to do with your phone. If you don't want to do anything outside of the apple box and all their restrictions get an iPhone. If you want a better phone with more flexibility, faster processor better camera, ability to add memory and several other goodies get the Samsung phone.

The iPhone 4 is only 3G does not allow more memory to be added, the back is made of gorilla glass which breaks easily if dropped, you can only get apps from iTunes, and all iPhones unless jail broken don't allow you to do many things like view things in flash.

Samsung galaxy s series phones are 4g which means its faster, have faster processors, allow downloads of apps etc from multiple places as well as the google play store. They don't break as easily as iPhones, the S4 has a back camera twice as good as all iPhones. You can easily add more memory by putting in a second chip which is easily and inexpensively done.

The S5 will be available early next year too and it's reported to be even better.

So if you want the best phone that does the most get the Samsung galaxy phone, if you just want a simplistic phone get an iPhone but as the iPhone 4 is so old I suggest you get a newer version. The 5, 5s or 5c as the 4 is no longer supported by apple and you won't be able to get ios updates or app updates soon.
