Should I buy a Macbook Pro?

I currently have an HP laptop that is about 4 years old. I'm a college student, I use my laptop for everything and it's to the point where it's almost non-functional. I have deleted many files/pictures and basically cleaned out my laptop however it's just not doing what I need it to. I am looking at a Macbook Pro. I want to know if the Macbook Pro (4GB, 500MB) is a good investment, or should I just buy a new PC?

I would prefer an opinion from someone who has had both a PC and a Macbook, but will take any advice from one who knows the quality of Apple.

William has it a bit wrong, care to hear from a pc technician?

Macs are made from the exact same hardware as PCs, but the hardware brands macs use are more durable. I wouldn't buy it for that reason though.

The Mac operating system is a bit more stable than windows, but not many programs will run on mac, most will run on windows.

Since both machines are the same hardware, it's a matter of Windows Operating System vs MAC Operating System, personally I choose Windows since more things run on it.

    Also, consider this.

Macbook with Dual-core I-5 processor, 4 gigs of ram, and 500gb HDD = 1,200 dollars.

    Laptop with Dual-core I-5 processor, 4 gigs of ram, and 500gb HDD = $450

    Source(s): $1,200 Macbook = http://store.apple.com/us/buy-mac/macbook-pro (look at the $1,200 one on the left)......... $450 Laptop = http://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-refurbished-k53e-...

I would only suggest a MAC PRO if you are doing high end graphics. Otherwise -- its just an expensive toy. If you are NOT doing graphics -- a good laptop will do. Get a minimum of 8g or RAM, a nice size hard drive and be sure it has a full key board = good to go. MACs are Greatness -- Very Expensive -- and they great for everyday use.

Buy it! Once you have used a Mac you'll never, ever go back to PC.
