We dominated them, as we should have, and we won by 3 goals. Good result.

Rooney should have scored another, STurridge should have score, Welbeck could have scored one from AT's cross, Gerrard forced a few saves. Comfortable win.

I still don't like a Gerrard-Lampard midfield though. They are too slow on the ball, and neither can work in small spaces. I'd rather have a Carrick-Wilshere midfield.

I thought England were, as usual, uninspiring and predictable - and that's why relatively 'lesser' teams can frustrate us without too much difficulty.

Leading 2-1, England had only put the ball in the net ONCE - and there was a distinct possibility of Montenegro drawing level.

I'm no fan of Wellbeck - imo he's just another Heskey with speed. If his anticipation had been better/sharper that 3rd goal would have been scored before it got to 2-1.

Thankfully Townsend saved the day but it was an unconvincing performance. It will be interesting to see what Hodgson learned from the game and what his starting line-up will be on Tuesday.

The Poles can't qualify but I'm sure they''d take much delight in making England struggle.

Fortunately the won but I do think they were less than fluent, especially in midfield where Gerrard and Lampard were not on great form. Rooney worked hard to bring some cohesion between the midfield and attack. Townsend also worked extremely hard and scored a great goal

'Andros' Townsend, huh...how long will it be before the latest MP Wilshire is wound up by a tabloid editor to wade in. Poland next - anyone remember 1973? I'm sure that will be mentioned, with the racist screaming from everyone's favourite Brian Clough; wonder if Phil Jagielka will be left on the bench? As for the team - this is no 1966!

well they won but never anywhere near justified their supposed superiority I mean Wayne Rooney ghosted into the box to superbly put England ahead the commentator said the man was scratting for scraps in the box and the ball fell at his feet the third goal was brilliant and he looks a good recruit but come on lets give credit where it's due I played in local leagues for quite a few years I did have a bit of ability even I wouldn't claim it as a good goal

Finally some football by england, i agree with you, england looked like they could draw the game fortunately the timing of both goals were crucial, townsend looked sharp, rooney actually looked like he was enjoying the game, at least they have a chance now they must beat poland..tough call

Got the result they needed but i think we're very vulnerable in the middle with only gerrard and lampard there, i think rooney has to come deeper into the hole

It's like none of you watch or understand football. Gerrard was one of England's best players; as he always is. It's Lampard who needs dropping for Carrick.

They're expected to beat teams like Montenegro.... especially at home, and they managed it.

Not really worth talking about other than that, they got the job done.

We need more players like townsend and hope that he cqn play like that against teams like Brazil.
