How does the apple one year warranty work?
I just bought an apple 5th Generation iPod a few days ago, and the sales guy told me that I have a one year warranty on it with apple.
I was just wondering how that worked? If my iPod gets broken within the year, does that mean I'll just have to go to an apple store to get it replaced or fixed?

A 5th gen iPod (I assume classic)? Still with a one year warranty? I doubt that seeing that that model has not been made since 2007, so any 1 year warranty for it would have expired in 2008.
Anyway the full details are here

but in a nutshell its any damage not your fault is covered.

if your iPod has any problems not caused by physical damage, water, etc(Read the paper that came along with iPod for details) then they will repair it or replace it for free as the situation requires.
by the way free repair or replacement doesn't include courier/transport charges from your home to apple store or vice-versa.
