Question about puberty?

Im 16 and I'm only 5'5 which bothers me because I'm a male and guys are usually tall. I've been short most of my life and my dad is 5'7 while my mom is 5'5. My doctor told me I should hit a growth spurt around the time I turn 16 and should be about 6'0-6'4. What do you guys think? Will I hit a growth spurt or is the doctor lying? Also, my brother is an adult and is about 5'8 or 5'9.

You won't hit a growth spurt - there's no such thing - and as you seem to come from a shortish family it's not likely that you'll suddenly expand by half a foot, is it !

This question really has nothing to do with puberty.

    It's a genetic question.

You cannot grow higher than your parents genes let you.

You have had your First pubertal growth = you might get second one

but unlikely to be taller than your brother, who has done well.

Sorry but doctor not in this world = utter rubbish.

Don't worry! You will hit the grown spurt just as the doctor says. I have a friend that is 16 and has also just started puberty.

Averge height for men is 5'10 it genetics play a big role in height and being your parents are short your most likley gonna be around there, there are simple things that can help like stretching and eating your vegtebales( vitamin k), but you still got until your 18-21 latest when you stop growing.

Your doctor was lying. Genetics say you'll never reach 6'. You'll probably be your brother's height, or close to it.
