Mobile dog grooming conversion?

I am a certified groomer that has been working from my home since August. I planned on moving to from the beginning and the grooming is funding my move, while my normal minimum wage job payed my bills. Rather than opening a store, I was thinking of starting a mobile business. I can cover more area that way, and in my opinion, it is more convenient.

Grooming trailers run at about $20,000-30,000 and used they are not much cheaper. I was looking at some camping trailers which i can find for $1000-2000. They have a heating/cooling system and a bathtub. Would there be any problems with me gutting out most of it (like the kitchen and bed), and making it into a grooming van? I mean it has everything included that I would have difficulties putting together myself. I could give it a nice exterior paint job with my logo, you know?

The only thing is I haven't seen anything from my google searches about this, which makes me think no one does it for an obvious reason I am missing. What do you think?

There is a house near us where a mobile grooming van just as you describe pull up on a regular basis to care for that family's poodle. So yes it is possible. Will there be a demand for it in your area who can tell till you try. You might test the waters by placing some ads or putting up flyers in your area offering to pick up dogs and groom them at your place or by asking your current customers if they would patronize a grooming van should you get one. That should give you a reasonable idea of the demand for such a service in your locale.
