Is it worth a trip to the doctors?
I was out last night wearing high heels and I didn't notice someone has split drink on the dance floor so I ended up slipping on it. I fell full force to the side and landed right on my hip & elbow. I was drunk but I remember it being unusually sore especially cause normally if you hurt yourself when you're drunk you hardly feel it. I was almost in tears for about 5/10 minutes before the pain dulled enough to make my way home.
I fell asleep fine (because I was drunk) but I woke up this morning in so much pain. My elbow is black & blue and looks like an egg it's that swollen then my hip/bum is almost too sore to sit or lean on. I can walk now but I was struggling this morning especially up & down stairs. I've spent most of my day in bed but the pain doesn't seem to be wearing off, it's actually got worse cause all my back muscles are aching from when I tensed myself when I fell.
I've done a cold compress & took a painkiller but it's not helping much, I'm in two minds whether to make a doctors appointment tomorrow or just wait and see how it goes this week? Do you think it's likely just to heal on its own over the next few days? I'm just worried I've done something that requires it to be bandaged etc. Thanks for reading!

it's very likely to heal on its own don't worry. If it were an injury to your head you make need it checking out but as you were out last night, it's still a recent injury really. If the swelling hasn't gone down in 72 hour then consider ringing for an appointment. Also, one evening it may be best for you to run a bath and soak for an hour or so, you'll feel immediately a lot better! hope you feel well soon!
