  • Is it worth a trip to the doctors?

I was out last night wearing high heels and I didn't notice someone has split drink on the dance floor so I ended up slipping on it. I fell full force to the side and landed right on my hip & elbow. I was drunk but I remember it being unusually sore especially cause normally if you hurt yourself when you're drunk you hardly feel it. I was almost in tears for about 5/10 minutes before the pain dulled enough to make my way home.

I fell asleep fine (because I was drunk) but I woke up this morning in so much pain. My elbow is black & blue and looks like an egg it's that swollen then my hip/bum is almost too sore to sit or lean on. I can walk now but I was struggling this morning especially up & down stairs. I've spent most of my day in bed but the pain doesn't seem to be wearing off, it's actually got worse cause all my back muscles are aching from when I tensed myself when I fell.

I've done a cold compress & took a painkiller but it's not helping much, I'm in two minds whether to make a doctors appointment tomorrow or just wait and see how it goes this week? Do you think it's likely just to heal on its own over the next few days? I'm just worried I've done something that requires it to be bandaged etc. Thanks for reading!

  • Which Premier Inn/Travelodge/Holiday Inn are closest to the nightlife in Newcastle?

I'm planning on traveling to Newcastle (from Scotland) for my 18th in January with 6 of my friends obviously for the nightlife and to do some shopping during the day.

We're looking for the cheapest possible hotels but still decent quality/standards - the Travelodge, Premier Inn or Holiday Inn are kind of our price range.

Most of these hotels seem to have a few dotted about the centre of Newcastle but which ones are closest to the nightlife? It's mainly to keep taxis cheap or give us the option to walk places so any help would be much appreciated thank you!

I know this isn't exactly the right category but I know it's a popular one and most people from Newcastle would probably know this, I've also posted it in the Newcastle category too.

  • 'Rien n'arrive sans raison' for tattoo, would this be correct?

I've been thinking about getting a tattoo on my ribs like curved under my boob if you know where I mean and I've finally found a phrase I like the look of. More so because with my decent knowledge of French I understand it without much thought and of course the length would be perfect too.

Initially I was thinking of a literal translation of 'everything happens for a reason' but after some looking about I really like the phrase 'rien n'arrive sans raison' so that would be 'nothing happens without reason' (correct me if I'm wrong please) and still basically means the same thing.

I just need to know if that would come across as an awkward translation to a French native speaker? Also it does basically mean the same thing in France and I'm not getting something too far away from 'everything happens for a reason'?

    Thank you for any help!

  • What would this quote be in either French, Italian, Spanish or Turkish? (just answer one atleast!)?

I'm looking at tattoo ideas but I love tattoos that aren't in English, so there's a bit of a mystery about them for people who don't speak the language.

The quote would be 'you've got a friend in me'

I understand it's from the song in Toy Story but that's one of the reasons why I love it, it'd be a tribute to my Granda (he's still alive but I want something for him anyway) and his favourite film is Toy Story.

Please don't use Google translate or any like it, I've already used them but I don't trust it.

Also note, it would have to be as much of a clean translation as possible because I much prefer 'you've' rather than 'you have'.

    Any questions just ask!

    Thank you! ♥

  • Anyone have Tumblr? And random bonus questions (six of them)!?

Just curious! If you do what's your url?

Check mine out if you wish!

    http://morganalex.tumblr.com/

BQ one - what languages do you speak (reasonably fluently)?

BQ two - do you have any piercing? If so where are they and where would you like piercings?

BQ three - what have you had to eat and drink today?

BQ four - what time is it where you are?

BQ five - what would you name your future children if you were to have two boys and a girl?

BQ six - what will be your 'statement item' of clothing for summer 2011? For people who are in places such as Australia, what is/was your 'statement item' of clothing (since your just past summer)?

I'm so bored! Been off school ill, so please do feel like you need to answer all question but if you do then thank you! Everything's just out ofcuriosityy, no real reason!

  • When did you join Yahoo Answers and bonus questions!?

You can find out if you go on your profile in case you didn't already know!

I joined the 12th of August 2007! I find it really strange coming back on this and not recognizing anyone's usernames or icons. I know we all change but I was on this loads during 2008/2009 and a TC about three times so everyone sort of knew each other.

To people who will of just joined that'll sound crazy but to people who have been here over a month or two you'll know what I mean probably!

    Anyway, bonus questions!

    • How old are you?

    • Where are you from?

    • Do you have a boyfriend?

    • If so, what are you getting them for valentines day?

    • What are you doing for Valentines day even if you're single?

    Take care xxx

  • Opinions on this tattoo idea?

So I recently turned sixteen and my Mum said if she agrees with a tattoo that I want and I can afford it she'll sign the paperwork etc to say I have permission to get it.

I've already decided on the position of the tattoo, I'd love one slightly curved under my left breast like on my rib cage. I understand this will be quite painful as I barely have any fat there at all and the skin is pretty thin but I am willing to deal with the pain.

I've been looking at quotes that I like but none have really urged me to get it inked onto my skin permanently until now.

The quote I saw tonight is 'do whatever you want in life. if it's something you'll regret in the morning, sleep late'.

I was thinking about asking for this in a pretty cursive font in a very small size that goes over two lines like so:

do what you want in life.

if it's something you'll regret in the morning, sleep late.

I only want two lines and I understand that may be too long for it to look balanced so I was also considering:

do what you want in life.

if you will regret it in the morning, sleep late.

Do you think this would be a decent quote? Also which do you prefer?

I am only considering this at the moment, I can change my mind but the position is definate.

    Thank you!

  • Some help with information on glasses, eyesight levels and contacts please?

Okay, so I'm not great at describing this and I probably don't know everything you need to know etc but it's worth a shot.

I am fifteen, turning sixteen in January and I have asked my Mum for contact lenses for about a year now. My Mum, never wearing glasses herself, doesn't understand how frustrating it is to not be able to see perfectly and dismisses me every time I mention contacts.

The last time I went to my optician he told me my left eye was 1.75 and my right eye was better at 1.25, I'm not sure if they were plus or minus numbers but they were either both minus or both plus not one and the other. To be honest I think they may have been plus.

I am shortsighted and need my glasses for distance, I do understand my eye sights not as bad as some people but it can make life more difficult for example I have to ask people what bus is coming towards me as I cannot see the number and I have to squint to see things from about 7 or 8ft in front of me. This is when I'm not wearing my glasses.

My Mum says that if I get contact lenses (monthly ones) and wear them all the time apart from when I sleep I will make my eyes worse and become dependent on them. To me becoming dependent on contact lenses doesn't bother me as I'm already pretty dependent on my glasses or other people.

I am planning to go to my optician and ask but I would just like to know if I am wasting my time? Are contacts available to any eyesight level that qualifies for glasses or just for people with really bad eyesight?

Sorry for this being so long winded, I appreciate any answers and if you need to know more just ask and I'll try and answer the best I can.

    Thank you!

  • How much should I feed my two year old Lhasa Apsos?

I recently got two Lhasa Apsos who are brothers and will be two year old on the 28th of December.

One is slightly smaller than the other but not too much of a difference, to be honest I think in their old house the bigger one used to eat the smaller ones food when they weren't supervised.

The smaller one is Rocko and the bigger one is Blue. Right now we give them a quarter of a tin each in the morning and the same at about tea time/evening. In their old house the woman told us they only got fed once a day, a quarter each but we didn't feel this was enough so we increased it.

As soon as we give them any treats they eat them very quickly so it seems as though they are still hungry. I do understand most dogs will eat and eat until they're sick so that might be why they are so frantic to eat their treats.

My family and I were just wondering how much food they should be given per day?

Also Rocko seems to have smaller teeth than Blue and cannot bite most harder food, we bought them chew toys etc to encourage him to strengthen his teeth but both of them just wreck them.

Blue tends to try and steal Rocko's food when we are not supervising them because Rocko doesn't eat as quick, this can be very tiring to teach Blue not to eat it.

Is there any other way to help strengthen his teeth that you know of?

    Thanks for your help!

  • Help with choosing Christmas presents for three people?

My Mum has asked me to start thinking up presents for my cousins, I've had a look on I Want One Of Those but nothing seems that unique for them there and still in budget.

Budget would be about £20, £25 at most for each.

The presents will be going to one girl who's going to be eighteen on Christmas Eve, another girl who's sixteen next February and a boy who just turned eleven in September but acts older for his age.

Last year we bought them pillows with a speaker built in them so they could plug their iPods in and listen while the fall asleep, all seemed to appreciate them and never got the same present from someone else.

I know gift cards or money can be easier but that's last resort as we'd prefer to buy them something.

Any recomendations are welcome and website links etc would be a lot of help, thank you!

  • What names sound better together for, let's say, a sibling set?

They will be two brothers, one is definitely called Ruben (I don't like the traditional spelling Reuben) but I have narrowed the names of the others down to three.

    They are:

Ruben and Bailey (I think Bailey feels too feminine)

    Ruben and Brady

Ruben and Brody or Ruben and Braden

To be honest my favourite is Ruben and Braden for their 'matching' feel.

    Opinions?

  • For everyone who uses Tumblr, what's your criteria for following people?

Do you tend to follow back everyone who follows you no matter what they post?

Do you tend to look for people with the same interests as you, like same favourite bands or celebrity's etc?

Do you tend to look for people with similar posts to yours, that you're likely to reblog or like?

Do you follow most of your people through recommendations from other people?

    Just your thoughts really :)

Also if you like my posts for any reason, do feel free to follow!

    http://morganalex.tumblr.com/

Personally, I only follow people who post nice photos that are similar to ones I would reblog or like. I do promise to take a look at all my followers blogs and if I like them then I will follow them, so I may follow you depending.

    Thanks for answering!

  • Standard Grade/GCSE - International Relations Help (Balkans)?

I have a revision list and also another list with questions that I must be able to answer just in case they appear in my exam.

I am looking at a question that says 'Why was there a problem in the Balkans in the early 1900s?' beside the question it says 'nationalism, pan Slavism, tensions, Great Power involvement'.

I'm not sure what those words are meaning but I think they're related to the question.

Could someone please explain the Tensions In The Balkans simply and straight-forward but enough for my to get the jist of it. Also could you help me answer the other question above?

Thanks so much, answers ASAP please!
