Sexual harassment? Or just me being a wuss?

What would this qualify as (if anything) if it happened between two people, both minors, at the time, in high school (this was years ago so it's no longer happening). One side did NOT want this happening.

-grabs butt/waist of another as she passes

-puts head very close to crotch as she pushes away (she's standing; he's sitting)

- runs hand up inner thighs

- tries to touch crotch, she pushes away

- one time, says "i will have sex with you tonight. She says, "no". He says, "you will. I'm coming to your house". Thank goodness it was an empty threat.

This went on for a little under a year, but everything he did he did jokingly and in a nonchalant manner. When she took him seriously and got upset, he'd say "what's wrong with you? I'm just kidding. Do you actually think I'd want to do that?"

She always threatened to tell, but her threats were as empty as his. She also threatened to tell his girlfriend but he said no one would believe her.

What did this count as? Was I a wimp?

That's definitely sexual harrassment and you should have told someone. Being that young, it's understandable that you were afraid to. I am glad you are not experiencing this situation any more. I hope the guy grew out of that behavior-- how terrible and unacceptable.

Well the touching alone could merit a charge of assault, "Any touching of a person the exceeds that implied consent of everyday life" - I would however not take this any further but instead warn him, Tell him that you are considering telling the police, as you are young I would there is little no chance that any conviction will take place and as it is not in the work place it is extremely unlikely that any compensation will be awarded as outlined line In Gregg vs TowerBoot & Co, 1979 The company must accept liability for the actions of its workers.

To be considered sexual harassment: The recipient must tell the offender to stop, and that their actions make them feel uncomfortable. If the offender repeats their actions, it's sexual harassment.

If it is an adult having inappropriate contact with a minor, it's considered indecent liberties with a child whether the above action happens or not. A little harder to make it stick if the child didn't say stop.

It's assault and harassment but sexual harassment is a civil case where the employer fails to maintain decorum among its employees.

I don't find this a matter worth chasing legally especially since it's in the past. I personally feel he went too far and you should have gone to the principal or beat the sht out of him. Since he's not bothering you anymore, move on.
