what type of wood is indigenous to the UK?

Where in the UK are indigenous forests - that are big enough to use for furniture making? Are they sustainable forests?

    There are many managed woodlands in the UK, run by the forestry ccommissionas was.

    These are normally softwood (pine).

    Most oak used in furniture comes from europe.

    There are various labels that appear on wooden products that act as a guide to consumers, they are not perfect but you should look out of FSC labels.

    Pine Holly no they are not sustainable in the UK,at the moment but we are working together and so someday it could be(who knows)
