Yes. We were very poor and had very few toys to play with. We did have a ball we could play kick ball with but we mostly played cowboys and Indians (my brother had a cap gun), war using acorns for ammunition, lol, and toy guns, we acted out fairy tales like the three little pigs, three billy goats gruff, we played on a concrete block with a flat board across it called jump board. One would stand on each end then we would take turns jumping on it like a seesaw as the other person shot into the air. We played with a ball tossing it over a shed to each other while we yelled Annie, Over, and if it didn't make it over we would yell Pigtails. We "fished" for worms that made holes in the yard called chicken chokers using a broom straw. We would put the straw in the hole and wait for the straw to start moving, then yank it out. We fished with hemp ropes catching cattails. We made mud pies and used weeds for the icing on top. We played Tarzan on a fallen tree. We walked on metal barrels and pretended we were in a circus. We pretended to be explorers to see what we could find. We made finger nail polish out of purple berries that were not edible. Sometimes we played house but not that often. We played pick up sticks with long burned out matches that mom saved for us. Kids nowadays don't know how to use their imagination because most of their activities are handed to them so they have no need to pretend.

Well, at the beginning being new and all. I played by myself, and imagined I was a bird, I would fly across the field and had the duty of looking after the baby birds. Which of course weren't there. But I got a thrill out of it, I really wish I was still excited with the little things in life. :)

I didn't play pretend, I couldn't see the sense in it. Pretend isn't logical because its not real.

I didn't play with dolls either by the way.

We were so poor if I had not been born a boy I would have never had anything to play with.

It's called "What's in my hand" I place an object in my hand then I close my eyes. I then shake my hands very fast and spin around in a circle, then stop all movement.
