Senior Rockers, Have you experienced any mishapes at a live Rock concert?

The vast majority of the concerts I went to went as planned--went, enjoyed, went to the diner with my friends afterwards, came home.

The only ones I remember with incidents were nothing drastic:

1. Passed out during The Allman Brothers (only one brother left--other one had died the year before), because we were within ten yards of the stage during "a dance concert." (No one dances. That's code for "no chairs." lol) It was so crowded I developed claustrophobia as I was wondering, "what if I want to sit down?" Someone caught you? Cool. I merely found out the seas can part if someone is going down. lol

2. Alice Cooper lost the special effects on me, since we were at the side of the stage, so I saw his stage hand put the harness on him, before he "hung" himself.

3. Cat Stevens was my absolute favorite, so no way was I going to get stoned or drunk before seeing him. I wanted to remember it all. BUT, Greenwich Village, four friends under 18, a nice Italian restaurant and all you can drink Sangria. One of my friends kept the pitchers coming and thought there was no problem eating all the fruit too. She sat next to me. I sat next to another friend. Just as the lights went down, she puked in my lap. My hands were in my lap. I had to wipe them off and there was someone in the cushioned chair in front of us, so I couldn't wipe them on his back. I did the reasonable thing. I wiped them on the only dry thing--the girl's lap on my other side. We cleaned up in the ladies room, and then spent most of the concert outside for the friend to sober up without getting mugged in front of Madison Square Gardens. She sobered up in time for the enocres. (Yes, we remained friends. How many times can you tell someone you're sorry for wiping your hands on her jeans? lol)

3. Madison Square Gardens again. No Nuke Concert. We were Jersey Girls and the subway stopped going to Jersey after midnight. We got to see one song by a bunch of people we didn't know. Then we got to see Bonnie Raitt, CSN, James Taylor AND Carly Simon singing Mockingbird together, Jackson Browne, Jackson with CSN, and then, THEN one song by the Doobie Brothers with Michael McDonald!!! (I just listed most of my favorite singers from back then. lol) And then they announced the Doobies were going to extend the concert, play a full set, and then everyone would sing together. Only problem? 11 PM, and we still had to catch that last train out. Yes, of course it was worth staying up all night in Manhattan all night, but that was the days of no cell phones and our ride--my friend's Mom--was already on her way to Trenton to pick us up. It was the last night of a three-night mega-concert, and we missed half of it.

We went to Battery Park the next day. (I believed in No Nukes back then.) Big demonstration. The only time I ever saw the Trade Towers. (Holy Cow! They were HUGE!) BUT, we gave up halfway through the day, after listening to speakers talk about rights--Indian Rights, Women's Rights, Hippies' Rights, Hamster Rights--every rights but No Nukes. It was 1978. Women had the rights we needed. Hippies really didn't need any more rights. The whales and eagles were already protected. And frankly, hamsters and animals get no special rights. I simply wanted one thing--to know the masterminds of nuclear power plants knew how to protect us from half-life even 100-300 years from now. I was in it for great-great-great-great grandkids' rights.

Little did I know, that would be my last major concert. We don't go anymore. The costs outstripped our wallets back when we were middle-class.

The only wild one was not really that wild. We would go to Southern Illinois U for concerts and they always had a covered set of seats. It was a Buddy Miles concert and a little way into the concert he said hey...no one is in the expensive seats...he said come on down and it was crazy until those seats were full. He put on the best concert I have ever seen. Guns and Roses didn't perform at all and when they left the crowd was ready to hurt them...which crossed my mind. I also went to a Black Sabbeth deal in a regular large room with no seats and you sat where you sat. They didn't bring any electronics and it was awful and I was really disappointed. I really love dixieland to use a loose term. I went to a free concert and Al Hirt was so drunk he couldn't play. I guess my problems were not with the fans but with the performers. My big disappointment was missing Janis Joplin at SIU. The show was supposed to have been spectacular. I couldn't get off work.

I've never been to a rock concert and would never wish to do so.

I thought you were asking about misshapes at first (meaning very strange shaped people) until I read some answers and realised that you meant mishaps. I guess there will be plenty of those at a rock concert with so many crowded into the area but I guess there could be several misshapes also. They'd be very misshapen after being crushed - that's for sure.

I often buy chocolate misshapes, they are usually half the price of the perfect ones.

Back when Bruce Willis was performing with his band, "Bruce Willis & The Heaters", lightning struck the stands and knocked down an observation stand near me, and also came close to the stage. Bruce Willis came out, looked around and cancelled.

We all received tickets for a later date - and he was great!

Also,although not a concert, once a lady took a hockey puck to the face in the row right in front of me at a hockey game. I've been pretty lucky, I guess.

I saw BOB SEGER, MOLLY HATCHET, NANTUCKET and THE ROCKETS at The Tangerine Bowl, Orlando, Florida April 5, 1980. It was my birthday. It was a biker crowd and got pretty rough. I'm not biker so I was a little frightened. We were on the field on a blanket, and the people in the stands started throwing bottles and items that were on fire onto the crowd on the field. The bathrooms floors were flooded with urine and you couldn't use the bathroom. I seen a girl's hair catch on fire, the people behind her tried to light something and her hair was a large afro and it poofed up into flames. When Bob Seger Finally came out the crowd pushed forward and we had to stand up. We lost out blanket and stuff on it when everyone trampled. It got so loud we couldn't even hear him, so we weaved our way out and left early. I'm glad we did, there was no telling what it would have been like trying to leave in that crowd. That was my last concert, I never had the desire to go to another one after that.

I remember Fleetwood Mac concert where Stevie couldn't sing. But I remember a good George Thorogood concert as well as the Outlaws and Jethro Tull. John Sebastion was good. And then the Trogs, too. So 90% of the concerts were good and uneventful.

me and a friend of mine drove to atlanta to see a jethro tull concert and ONE of us decided that it would be a SMART idea to drive to the local bus station and ride in on the bus as to avoid the traffic and yes it did work we arrived before schedule and got in with no problem. The concert was great but upon leaving we both were awakened to the FACT that there were no buses riding back to the stations at this time.

it was late and we had no idea which way to walk , then a block or two up the road a woman said she would gives us a ride up to the station which later we found out she had no IDEA where the station was then she politly droped us off 10 more miles out of the way to our destination.

to make a long night mare short it tooks us 24hrs to get back to a station that was only 5 miles or so out of the way and turned out that they had just bilt that station and no one at the main station knew anything about its where abouts and remember back in the day no smart phones or gps .

then on the drive home i fell asleep at the wheel almost hit a bridge , but we managed to make it home and will never ride that magic bus again.

I went to a Cream concert back in the 60's at the Grande Ballroom in Detroit. The stench of pot was so strong we all got temporary contact highs. We were not (or ever have been) pot smokers so we didn't realize what was going on at first.

It wasn't necessarily a mishap.

Just overdoses & a few knife fights. I worked security. The biggest mishap was a dental emergency when a bass player let a mic stand go & tried to use his foot to get it back up. Knocked him out cold & his bass had to go into the shop again. We got him up & going again, if you get my drift. I promised never to tell his name or the groups name. I honor my word.
