Crossfit for Sprinters?

My schools track season starts in February. As part of the JROTC program I'm in, we have the option of doing crossfit after school and I've been debating on whether on not I should go. My main concern is if it is good training for Track and Field. My main events are short distance sprints (100m, 200m), the long and triple jump and I'm hoping to high jump. I don't want to be doing the wrong type of training all winter so what do you guys think? Is it the right type of training or should I go with a different approach?

Cross fit done during the off season could be good for you, do not do it in the late pre season or the season.
