why wont my acura rsx increase rpm?
2002 Acura RSX Base model 157k miles 5 speed.
i probably replaced the clutch about 2 months ago.
so basically once i hit 4000 RPM the car wont accelerate anymore. no matter what gear im on. it wont go any faster than 4000 RPM. not even if i floor it. so the fastest my car can go is about 85 mph.
why is this happening? what causes it? what do i need to fix? and how much will it cost me?

Probably a sensor, your computer not letting you accelerating, like a limiter. Also maybe there is not enough air going through, which might have to do with sensors. Question is, have you had anything else done to your car? And when did this problem start happening? Did start doing it right after new clutch install? Do you hear any noises?
I don't really see why a clutch would do it. If synchros were not working you would hear grinding, or it would go hard in gear, but it wouldn't really accelerate at all.

Check all the wires when you replaced the clutch, If you replace it , if not take it to the place you had it replaced at. It sound like your VTEC solenoid.

Might be the problem lies in Throttle possition sensor or you might have problem in your Catalytic converter, you might also want to check your Neutral Safety Switch. It could be sending out some bad readings and would have to be adjusted, make sure about all these things.
