what type of Siamese cat is this?

We got this cat that looks Siamese, though I don't want to say he is genuinely Siamese until I know for sure. After some research, there seems to be 3 main types: traditional (apple-head), classic (traditional-modern combo), and modern (wedge-head). His head shape looks traditional, though he is more medium sized like classic (he also has a slightly more prominent muzzle than traditional and his tail isn't really tapered). Also, if you look at his picture, two of his hind paws have small white spots only on the middle toes (actually, the paw pads on one of the hinds is pinkish and not brown/black like the others). Also, I notice some very faint tabby striations on his tail, and his whiskers are speckled. His cream fur has started to darken a bit, so this makes me feel he is Siamese, but the white toes on the back, faint striation and speckled whiskers makes me wonder. I thought maybe he was a Snowshoe, but his two front paws pure dark brown. So, does this mean he just a diluted Siamese, or do true Siamese have some of these color characteristics? If there are any Siamese cat lovers/experts out there that have an answer, please let me know :)

Update 2:

Thank you! We took the poor thing in and I love him so much, it wouldn't matter what he is... just wanted to know as much as I can about him, I felt bad not having an answer if asked. After hearing about the "backyard breeding", it breaks my heart to think people just toss animals aside like that for whatever monetary reason... as you said, irresponsible breeders. I'm glad to have saved him though, and he is a happy boy! But this solves it, thanks again!

Technically, without papers he's a seal point domestic short hair. There really is no "apple head" and "traditional" designation - by definition, the current show standards call for that extreme wedge look. This has called some people to bring back the 'original' Siamese, and it's now an established breed in TICA called the Thai cat. Breeders who produce that more rounded look are generally back yard breeders, not responsible ones. Having said that, there are people who preserve that old style Siamese - they are double registered - they are in CFA and/or TICA (and/or ACFA) and also in PREOSSIA (The Prestwick-Beresford Old-Style Siamese Breed Preservation Society). These are "real" registered, pedigreed Siamese - but they don't meet the breed standard for showing, so aren't shown. This is different than a cat from a back yard breeder - they are breeding to sell, and not to improve (or preserve anything). The white toes are a serious breed fault, and white has been bred out of the breed. So - what do you have? We'll never know for certain. But he's darn cute, definitely Seal, and would qualify for breed rescue :)
