Is the solution to this problem "9"?
Is 9 a solution for the equation: (60 + 16x) = 15 + 4x ? Justify your answer mathematically and in words.
I have this question that is apart of a set of MANY questions for my Algebra extra credit.
I'm in the 9th grade and it's to make up for the points I missed on my test.
Thank you very much in advance for everyone who helps. :]

16x - 4x =15+ (-60)
12x = -45
x = -45/12
x = -3.75 NOPE
set all x on one side of the equation changing sign as required(4x becomes -4x)= all whole numbers on the other side of the equation changing the sign as requiredo6 becomes minus 60)
divide both sides by 12 to set the unknown x alone. Do the math and you get negative 3.75 not 9

60+16x=15+4x
Take away 4x from both sides:
60+12x=15
Take away 60 from both sides:
12x=-45
To solve for x, divide both sides by 12:
(12x)/12= (-45)/12
x= -45/12
x= -3.75
So the answer is -3.75

60+16x=15+4x,
60+16x-4x=15,
60+12x=15,
12x=15-60,
12x=-45,
x=-45/12,
simplify,
x=-15/4.
Answer: -15/4.

(60 + 16x) = 15 + 4x
=> 60 + 16X = 15 + 4x
=> 16x - 4x = 15 - 60
=> 12x = - 45
=> x = -45/12
= - 3.75
Ans. - 3.75

60 + 16x = 15 + 4x
60 - 60 + 16x = 15 - 60 + 4x
16x = -45 + 4x
16x - 4x = -45 + 4x - 4x
12x = -45
12x/12 = -45/12
x = -45/12

(60 + 16x) = 15 + 4x
60 + 16x = 15 + 4x
16x - 4x = 15 - 60
12x = -45
x = -45/12
x = -15/4
