Christians, true or false, Jesus forbid violence?
In other words, should all followers of Christ be strict pacifists based ONLY on what scripture says?

Jesus taught love--- there is no room for wars of hatred in love. In Noahs day Gods word teaches that God destroyed most because of violence. Yes in the ot God ordered certain wars--not anymore.

I do not consider myself a Christian anymore, but I used to be one. And the way I see it, Jesus did not command people to be pacifists. He encouraged people to use their heads, and to find peaceful ways of dealing with problems. But he also realized there might be times when one cannot be peaceful. That is why someone had a sword, and Jesus had to tell him not to use it against the guards who came to get him. If he commanded people to be peaceful at all costs, then he would not have wanted that person to even have a sword to begin with. Obviously, he knew that he might need to use that sword at some point in time, and allowed him to have it. Also, Christians are supposed to look to Jesus as one who set a perfect example for us. So then why are Christians always feeling like they can't be mad at all? There is a time for everything. When Jesus knocked over the tables at the temple, he was most definitely angry, and acted just like someone who was extremely angry. So Christians should give themselves permission to get mad, and not feel guilty for a normal emotion that is bound to happen.

Not necessarily.
God commanded his people to go to war many times. Not only did he have them go to war, but he wanted them to commit genocide of the opposing nations, that is to kill their women and children and any other civilians.
God also gave his chosen people the power to kill their oppressors and enemies. God gave samson the strength to kill those Philistines, he gave David the strength to kill Goliath, he bestowed Moses with the power to drown his pursuers as he fled from Pharaoh.
The Bible says murder is wrong, it never says killing is wrong.
