Will another winter make the rust on my car worse?

I have a small rust hole in the sub frame. I cannot afford to fix it this winter, so I'm wondering if one more salty winter will make it worse or not affect it very much. I probably won't have it by spring, so I'm not looking to use POR15 or anything on it.

*Roads are very salty here.

A small hole won't be huge by spring, and that is when you want to get rid of the car.

Check with a dealer to see if you have a silent recall for corrosion of the sub frame. Hyundai Canada has one and they put new subframes into some cars that look like they are ready for the scrapyard. Nice shiny new frames in an old rusted out wreck, but out the door they go.

Silent recalls are just that - silent so not many people know about them until the ask.

Oxidation is a day-by-day process, so the rust will be worse at the end of the winter than it was at the beginning. There's really no way of knowing how much worse.

Yes, it will only get worse. But if you cannot afford to fix it, then there is no choice
