would atheists still be preaching all around if they didn't have evolution to fall back on?

Its their golden argument, the only one which they hold to tightly to say *** god, ok cool np - where would you hold on to if this hypothesis wasn't here? What would you do if you had no scientist in a white robe with glasses telling you what to believe because he "proved" it, what would you do? Even if it's a theory that proves (it rly does) many things it doesn't prove all it says it is proving, but that's for another time.

Update:

ok, a reply to the submental apes you guys are:

@ Xaurreau: first of all, think for yourself you submental ape, quoting others to say what you want, that's the epitome of the atheist, always needing to quote something or someone since they cant even think for a second for themselves and they claim to be "free-thinkers" lol, how pathetic

@Manufacture Consent ; First, you're wrong, you cant always follow the evidence the scientist tells you, you're not educated enough or not aware of everything he is therefor you would need to be a scientist yourself or knowledgeable like one, I never mentioned once creationism i dont know where you pulled that out, dont put words in my mouth and try and focus for more then 6 seconds, dont be an idiot a answert he the questions asked not to your question.

@Pull My Finger ; i never said i could disprove evolution dumb ape, its not your finder ill pull its your tail..

@ Everard; hello old filthy saggy douche-bag, how is your cente

We don't need to fall back on evolution to refute your superstitious, myth-based beliefs. Your "holy book" disproves itself.

And what makes you, who have repeatedly proven yourself to be an ignoramus, think that you know all there is to know about evolution?

If you think you can disprove evolution, provide your "evidence" so we can shoot it down for the ignorant, stupid, lying, idiotic crap that it is.

That was just pathetic- it shows how much you just do NOT know...

“Kid... you don't mind if I call you 'kid', do you?

Kid, I was seven when I first heard about *the* imaginary little space chap...

LONG before I knew much about anything let alone science being a concept even...

LONG before teh internets were invented.

LONG before I'd read anything written by atheists...

It was just so obvious - just like Pixie and Elf and Goblin...

I never read anything telling me they were fantasy figures either ;)

Anyway, I was surprised grownups could be so silly; I am still amazed.

Monsters in the closet, under the bed, dancing about on clouds awaiting requests?

It’s nothing but superstitious nonsense and it’s all extremely pathetic.

At almost 70 I have NOT seen-heard anything to cause me a change of mind.”

Please, don't hold back on our account. Tell us what the theory of evolution claims to prove but doesn't prove.

Until then, I'll tell you that if evolution were overturned today, I still wouldn't believe in a god. Overturning evolution would just make the difference of species inexplicable given current models and data. It would not prove the existence of a god. It certainly wouldn't prove the existence of the Christian God to the exclusion of all other conceivable gods.

The implication that scientists are like authoritarian prophets is disingenuous. You can use your own brain to look at the evidence a scientist presents and see if it follows.

If there was no theory of evolution, we'd be working towards another theory. But even if we had no other theory, this wouldn't mean Creationism is true. Creationism would need its own evidence to be true.

    You're half right.

Were it not for realising evolution is an undeniable fact, I too would probably be ignorantly and arrogantly thinking something had to have intended all life.

Neither of us have that excuse any more, so get with reality.

The Theory of Evolution says nothing of a god, which is why you find that the religious and irreligious alike accept it as fact.

There is no such thing as magic.

Evolution has nothing to do with that simple and self-evident fact.

Even if evolution was proven false, that does not prove any gods. So yes.

    Yup

Atheism and evolution are for grownups. You aren't expected to understand.
