Does pure logic, rationality and only trusting what is in front of your face cause a form of stupidity?
Or is it just an idol?
Maybe both?
The word 'pure' applies to both logic and rationality.
How about a balance?
That's my point. It's okay to be rational and even logical, but some elevate it above other things and then they have nothing left.

No..you are thinking of people who Ignore logic and do NOT pay attention to evidence..they are called christians..and yes, THAT IS a Form of stupidity!

I know of no person who "only trusts what is in front of your face."
I understand that using logic and rational thought can prove things that NO ONE has seen, such as the complete orbit of Pluto.
The difference between something like that, and a god, is that there is evidence that Pluto exists.
================
Elevate it over WHAT? "Belief", the acceptance of things for which no evidence exists?
OF COURSE logic and rational thought should be elevated over belief.

I think inductive reasoning is rational, so you do not need to trust only what you see. But, no. I do not think being rational is a form of stupidity.

No, then it wouldn't be pure logic and rationality would it?
This question is an oxymoron. Like asking, "Can Intelligence be stupid?"

I hate when people are rational.
*sarcasm*
You have no idea how ignorant what you said was, do you?
-edit-
There is absolutely nothing wrong with logic and rationality. That's reality. I'm sorry if you happen to have beliefs that don't make the cut to be included.
I'm not going to be illogical and irrational to suit your lack of it, sorry.

No. Pure and unbiased logic and rationale causes insanity. It results in endless doubt and eventually paranoia. When you break free of the chains of indoctrination you realize that you can tear the foundations of reality apart every which way without violating principles of logic. It will initially make you wonder if you're insane but eventually make you a mystic (if not a statistic).

Your either an atheist troll
or a religious troll.
Either way you not helping Jesus convert people, neither would you be helping to make more rational atheist.

I'm sure you would think that rationality was a form of stupidity, never having experienced it yourself.

It causes too much reliance on the left side of the brain. Everyone has TWO sides and one side is not necessarily better than the other.
