How can I focus on writing a DBQ?
Writing DBQ's is new to me, and I'm having a lot of difficulty with it because I just can't focus. I've looked up how to focus on stuff, but this is harder. It's just so boring. I think one day I'll have some sort of magnificent breakthrough and I'll never have trouble with DBQ's again, but right now I'm stuck. Maybe I should start timing myself. Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone has had a similar problem and how you've dealt with it. What sort of mindset should I get into when I try to write a DBQ? Any brilliant tips? Tips in general? Anything?

1.- Read all documents in Part A. Write responses to Part A questions in complete sentences based on each individual document.
2.- Read the rubric. Take note of things you need to do to earn points. Take note of things to avoid.
3.- Read the task section in Part B. Note exactly what the task is asking of you.
Creating DBQ Outline Boxes
4.- Divide your paper into three columns.
5.- Label each column. The first column is "Document # and Description." The second column is "Document Information." The final column should be called "Outside Information."
6.- Fill in the boxes. List the document number and a brief description for each document under the first column. Use bullet points to list the main ideas for each document in the second column. Focus on both the questions you answered in Part A and the assigned task to guide your bullet points. Continue using bullet points for the third column. Use outside information related to the task to focus your ideas in this column.
7.- Use the information you've written in the boxes to focus your paper.
