My teacher embarrassed me in class?

Im 20 years old and im taking a critical thinking class its under the category of philosophy and today we were talking about body language and what kind of signs it gives off

And im fairly quiet in class I havent spoken a word at all i just mind my own business listen and take notes and do the assignments i pretty much keep to myself

and today my teacher told me to come up in front of the whole class so he could show an example of how body language can convey certain things

and i started fidgeting and was really nervous and i felt anxiety during all of this and I looked like an idiot in front of the class

I just dont feel like going back now it was kind of a hit to myself esteem

because before at least i was the quiet anonymous guy now im the guy who looked like an idiot in front the class

PLEASE go back. Please. She was probably, 100% wrong for doing that to you. But, please don't let fools like that intimidate you and cause you to quit anything that is positive in your life bc then where does it stop?

Are you going to keep shying away from people who are not shy and people who are insensitive jerks? No, you are not. Bc you are better than that. Go back, not just to show her what she did means nothing in the big scheme of things, but most importantly bc you need to take this class to follow your pursuits, right??

20 is still young. When I was 20 I was still afraid of being around groups of ppl I didn't know. I barely talked to people, either. It had something to do with the way I was raised and the type of environment I was subjected to.

Now, I am not so shy and I realized a while ago that ppl worry and think waaaaay more about themselves than you or anybody else.

Your teacher prolly has her own insecurities. Other students do too. If they say no, then they are hiding or in denial. Some ppl will try and tear others down just to take the focus off them and their insecurities.

So, trust me, ppl in your class probably couldn't care less about you being nervous. They are probably just glad it wasn't them.

Go back to your class:) You can do it:)

That's pretty cruel of your teacher. But I wouldn't drop it if I were you. It's basically November. That means there is only about a month and a half of schooling left. I'd just let it go and act like nothing happened.

Is going to class absolutely necessary? A lot of my professors put lectures and notes online now; in some of the classes, the attendance rate is only around 60%. Maybe start skipping out on class and using the textbook and notes online to learn.

So I guess none of the people in your class have ever been embarrassed in public before. Of course they have. You aren't the only one. It happens to all of us. Your self esteem is going to be even lower if you can't even find the courage to return to class after a minor incident like this one.

And what about your grade? Are you going to let this keep you from earning a grade in this class? And the time and effort you have already put into it.? Is it all going to be wasted because of some ridiculous little incident?

And what about the class itself. How ironic that it is a "critical thinking" skills class, because you obviously haven't learned any of them judging by the question you just asked.

Grow a pair and go back to class.

Well no one can make you go back to class. However I can say for certain that people will think you're a coward for letting one embarrassing moment keep you from going to your class.

Is it really worth not going anymore and failing the class? Everyone has some embarrassing moments from time to time.

Oh man, I'm sorry. I'm the same way, one time I almost fainted while giving a presentation for my college class. People say it gets better once you do it, but in my experience that didn't quite pan out, if anything it got worse. But likely, no one will remember or will think of you in the light you think they will, believe it or not.
