Lance
I am a senior citizen and I enjoy reading the daily Yahoo News articles. Recently I have started posting comments and replies for my own personal entertainment. In the beginning I was astounded at 1.The emotional immaturity. 2.The lack of common civility. 3.The reactionary posts. 4.The apparent lack of education. And 5.The ignorance and stupidity displayed. Although it may show a certain amount of immaturity on my part, I often bait and antagonize some of these people just to see how far they will go in hurling epithets and insults at me. I sincerely hope that the average Yahoo commenter represents the bottom third of American society intellectually, because if he or she is representative of the Average American intellect, I honestly believe this nation will fall from its leadership status as the #1 country in the world before I am gone.
It is recommended that to stay healthy we should walk at least ten thousand steps a day?
Since I am getting older I no longer run because it is too hard on my achy knees, instead I use an elliptical trainer for cardio and I am just curious as to what the equivalent in walking steps is to a single elliptical step. It would seem to me that depending on the amount of resistance 2 to 4 walking steps would equal a single elliptical step. I do an hour on the elliptical at a good pace with stiff resistance six days a week, so I know I'm exceeding the exercise equivalent of the ten thousand step threshold already, but I am just curious and this information may help inform others who also use elliptical trainers.

6 AnswersYahoo Answers7 years agoRich and LeBron James ugly or handsome and average guy poor? Read the entire question before Flagging me.?
A previous version of this question was removed, so I will try to explain it further. There is no offense intended toward LeBron James. I am using him as an example of one extreme simply because he is so widely well known, a wealthy guy, and most people would agree that he is by no means good looking.
As I previously stated Average Guy Poor really isn't poor. I am talking between 35 - 65 thousand dollars a year.
Which one would you choose?
1 AnswerSingles & Dating7 years agoShould Jerry Jones blow up the Dallas Cowboys?
The Cowboys have finished another Winter rite of shooting themselves in the foot and keeping themselves out of the playoffs. Should Jerry Jones follow up on his recent threat that if Dallas didn't win the division he would blow up the team and start over? And why am I so happy over all of this?

Would you rather pose an interesting Question that makes other people think or would you rather give a well thought out Answer that is truly informative? Both are rewarding but I prefer asking interesting questions although I have given far more answers.
And in your opinion is this one of the interesting questions I am talking about?

Was the Time Machine used in an episode of The Big Bang Theory THE TIME MACHINE from the original movie based on H.G. Wells' famous novel?
It looked too new, no apparent scratches or wear for a 53 year old time machine. I need some real sleuths to help me out on this one. I will not rest until this question is answered.
The movie starring Rod Taylor and Yvette Mimieux is one of my science fiction favorites. I'm nearly 60 and those incredibly creepy Morlocks still send a chill down my spine.

3 AnswersPsychology7 years agoAre the Dallas Cowboys done?
After tonight's historically epic fail against the Green Bay Packers, are the Cowboys going to make the playoffs? If so how deeply will they go? Packers tied a team record for biggest deficit overcome to win a game. You can't see it, but my smile is a mile wide right now.

9 AnswersGender Studies7 years agoIs the song "Secret Agent Man" by Johnny Rivers the coolest TV theme song ever?
I am not asking what the "Best" TV theme song in history is. That is for another question. The song "Secret Agent Man" is from the 1960's TV series "Secret Agent" starring two time Emmy winner Patrick Mcgoohan. Sung by the legendary Johnny Rivers the song starts out with a stunning guitar riff that once heard, you will never forget. If you haven't heard the song before I suggest you go to Youtube and listen to it, then let me know what you think. Am I right or am I wrong?
What other American TV theme songs do you think are cool as well?

1 AnswerYahoo Answers7 years agoHow much does it irritate you when someone plagiarizes your answer?
You give a good answer, then someone following you moves a few words around to come up with their "answer." Others don't even bother to do that. They just lift a sentence or two directly from your answer, then claim it as theirs. I know imitation is supposed to be the sincerest form of flattery, but I want to know how all the intelligent people feel about others who can't even come up with an original thought.
5 AnswersYahoo Answers7 years agoAre enough people voting on Yahoo Answers?
I have recently noticed that many Best Answers were the result of only one person casting a vote among several or even many potentially excellent answers. Since many people spend a lot of time giving well thought out answers this seems somewhat of a disservice to Yahoo answerers to me. What do you think?
