Need Help--Sheldon and Leonard's Time Machine?
Was the Time Machine used in an episode of The Big Bang Theory THE TIME MACHINE from the original movie based on H.G. Wells' famous novel?
It looked too new, no apparent scratches or wear for a 53 year old time machine. I need some real sleuths to help me out on this one. I will not rest until this question is answered.
The movie starring Rod Taylor and Yvette Mimieux is one of my science fiction favorites. I'm nearly 60 and those incredibly creepy Morlocks still send a chill down my spine.

I say not likely. This article details the history of the prop, which ended up in a travelling show for a time and had to be rebuilt. It refers to it as somewhat delicate. They show a picture of its current condition at the end, and Leonard's eBay find was in much, much better shape and much brighter in color. Also consider that this would be a fairly pricey prop. It wouldn't make sense for them to "rough-house" with a delicate piece of memorabilia like that.

I'm not absolutely sure on this and I don't have access to the episode, but I seem to remember when they were looking at the advertisement for it on the computer that the word 'replica' was used.
