Record APFT chapter, but is it really?

I have a soldier that failed a record APFT this past April. The soldier was re-tested a month later and passed. Now the soldier has once again failed the record APFT for October. MY Detatchment SGT wants to chapter the soldier on APFT failure stating that the soldier failed two tests in a row. Is that true though? Because the soldier did pass the re-test. Is that actually counted as "two-in-a-row" or is the Detatchment SGT up to something?

Straight from Chapter 13 of AR 635-200:

"e. Initiation of separation proceedings is required for Soldiers without medical limitations who have two consecutive failures of the Army physical fitness test per AR 350–1.... "

Chapter 13 also goes on to give Commanders quite a bit of leeway to get rid of substandard soldiers. Here's what else it says:

    "13–2. Criteria

    a. Commanders will separate a Soldier for unsatisfactory performance when it is clearly established that

    (1) In the commander’s judgment, the Soldier will not develop sufficiently to participate satisfactorily in further training and/or become a satisfactory Soldier.

    (2) The seriousness of the circumstances is such that the Soldier’s retention will have an adverse impact on military discipline, good order, and morale.

    (3) The Soldier will likely be a disruptive influence in duty assignments.

    (4) The circumstances forming the basis for initiation of separation proceedings will likely continue or recur.

    (5) The Soldier’s ability to perform duties effectively is unlikely.

    (6) The Soldier’s potential for advancement or leadership is unlikely

NO the SGT isn't up to anything...

He is correct in what he says...

You really need to get rid of that "Feel Sorry" attitude...

and get rid of the Non Hacker...

Would you want this "Sub-Standard Soldier" with

you in a Fire Fight ??? Didn't think so...
