Should I replace my hard drive before it dies?

I keep finding different answers to questions like this online. My hard drive has about 3,000 hours of use but no replaced sectors.

Usually you will either hear or feel a difference before the drive fails.

If your hard drive is making clunking noises or any other unusual sounds, backup your hard drive as soon as possible. (I use AOMEI backupper which is free and I like it)

Another sign of hard drive failure is when you start up the computer and before windows starts, it goes to disk checking.

And lastly if you notice the read/write is considerably slower, you might want to want to run a program like crystaldisklnfo

But if you are really paranoid and have money to spend, sure buy a new one. I would definitely look at the latest SSD because they are really affordable right now and performance over regular hard drives is pretty amazing since SSD has no moving parts.

3000 hours is only 125 days

    Not that old yet .

But they can die at any time. It's alway smart to keep back ups of everything .

What I do is use Clonezilla free from Clonezilla.org they have a nice tutorial on there page. You can make an image of your drive to a usb drive. You then will not need to worry if it dies as long as you keep new files back up on another drive.

    Make this a rule:

Maintain updated backup copies of all your data.

Hard disks will eventually fail at some point so it is inevitable that you will need to replace it sooner or later..

create a backup first. And go for a new hard drive online at cheaper rates. The best online store for buying hard drives online, according to me, is http://www.drivekings.com/
