Pietta black powder revolvers worth buying? And do any American company's make bp revolvers?

I know Italians make good stuff but I just don't want to spend money on crap that I can't return. Most reviews are good but there are some that say their revolver was shitily made? I would rather buy American made but i can't find any American made black powder revolvers.

Ruger made one up until 2008. It was called th Ruger Old Army. They were a good gun. You can check for used ones .I had an acquantance that wore a pair in a 2 gun rig. He was a retired Marine and using the pistols could outshoot a lot of rifles.

I own one pietta, and I have no complaints. BP revolvers are just not quite the smae as a modern firearm. They require very careful cleaning lots of gun grease and #10 prcussion caps instead of the more common # 11.

They are not for everyone. I own 5 and I really enjoy them.

Hope that this helps.Good luck on whatever you decide.
